il punto – Cucina Italiana

Where the Rhineland comes together in conversation.

Italian cuisine. Personal hospitality. A meeting place.

With il punto, the Andreas Quartier continues a special story of Italian hospitality – from Bonn via Berlin to Düsseldorf.

The story of il punto is closely linked to Giuseppe “Peppe” Perna. It began in Bonn with a restaurant that, far beyond good Italian food, became a meeting point for people from politics, diplomacy, business, culture and society.

When the political capital moved, the path led to Berlin. Today, this story is being continued together with Manuela and Uwe Schmitz in the Andreas Quartier on the Rhine.

At its heart, to this day, is what has always defined il punto: Italian cuisine, personal relationships and a hospitality that turns a restaurant into a meeting place.

Cucina

Italy begins at the table.

The kitchen at il punto concentrates on the essentials: excellent produce, clear flavours and dishes that have no need to hide their Italian roots.

Familiar classics meet the season. Uncomplicated and precise at lunchtime; in the evening, with more time and space for a long Italian evening.

A carefully selected wine list accompanies the cuisine – from the first aperitivo to the last glass at the table.

Arte

The Chancellors – Faces of Democracy.

At il punto, a visit to the restaurant also becomes an encounter with contemporary German history. The walls are hung with portraits by Konrad Rufus Müller, whose photographs of the German Federal Chancellors were taken over several decades.

Rather than seeking grand staging, the black-and-white images look for the person behind the public figure. The result is an unusual dialogue between Italian hospitality, art and history.

In this way, il punto is at once restaurant, meeting place and exhibition space.

Aperitivo & Vino

A good evening begins at the table.

Part of il punto is the Italian art of never rushing an evening unnecessarily. An aperitivo to begin, a carefully chosen bottle of wine with the meal and plenty of time for conversation afterwards.

The wine list accompanies the Italian cuisine with a well-chosen selection and turns lunch or dinner into an evening that need not end with dessert.

il punto offers a special setting for personal encounters, private occasions and business gatherings.

Italian cuisine, personal hospitality and the special atmosphere of the Andreas Quartier create a place for dinners, conversations and celebrations to remember.

Atmosphere

A room full of life and conversation.

il punto sees itself as a meeting place. Here, guests from Düsseldorf and the quarter meet people from business, culture and society – over Italian cuisine, a glass of wine and conversations that make you happy to stay at the table a little longer.

The combination of hospitality, art and the long history of il punto gives the restaurant its unmistakable character.
